BOUGAINVILLEA ‘Don Fernando’

When it comes to red bougainvillea its not surprising that Don Fernando is the handsome hero! This unusual shade of red is difficult to describe – somewhere between tomato red and crimson – but its extremely easy on the eye. Like all bougainvillea, the Don Fernando is a vigorous grower, particularly in the warmth of summer. Bougainvillea need heat and sunlight to bloom at their best, and benefit from a light prune after each flowering cycle. In the UK Bougainvillea Don Fernando needs to be protected indoors behind glass during the cooler months, but will give a beautiful display outdoors in the height of summer against a south-facing wall.
